Jim Hemmings

I’ve lived in Mansfield my whole life and I’m always proud to say where I’m from and I’ve learned so much from growing up here. I am married and we have 3 beautiful young boys and Mansfield is a place where we want to raise our Children.

I attended Brunts School and West Notts College before joining the British Army. During my near on 9 years service I travelled the world on training exercises and also completed 4 tours of Duty which included a total 13 months serving in Iraq, and further tours tours of Kosovo and Northern Ireland. During this time I gained a lot of valuable life experiences.

After leaving the Army I worked as a Plant Manager for 2 of the largest support services companies in UK; Balfour Beatty and Babcock International Group. More recently along with my Wife we have set up our own Business in Mansfield Town Centre which attracts 1000’s of visitors to Mansfield every year and has also contributed to raising funds for many local charities in the area.

Why do I want to be a councillor?

Because I actually do care about Mansfield and the people who live here and it’s the place I want to live and I want to raise my family here for many years to come. I want to contribute to Mansfield and ensure it’s a safe and nice place for us all to live. Mansfield is in my blood and I want to make a difference and support the local communities.
